Formada principalmente en la taxonomía de Aphyllophorales (Basidiomycota) he participado en 8 proyectos de investigación, en dos de los cuales como investigadora principal. Entre ellos destaca mi participación en: Flora Micológica Ibérca durante las fases I, IV y V, y del que soy Investigadora Principal en la actualidad y en Interconexiones biogeográficas de los Corticiáceos (Aphyllophorales, Basidiomycota macaronésicos. Destaco tambien el iniciar el estudio de los Heterobasidiomicetes en la Península Ibérica; así como mi experiencia como docente durante 17 años en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, en los que impartí clases tanto teóricas como prácticas de asignaturas como Botánica General, Criptogamia y Micología.
