Library services

Access to electronic information resources
The library provides access to various databases and electronic publications from the terminals in the reading room. The library staff are on hand to provide any help you need. 

Tutorials are available giving users more information on using these electronic resources in the CSIC library network.


Accessing the library's own resources

Information Service
The staff responsible for user support will provide users with on site information, advice and guidance on the use of the library's resources.

Consulting works in the reading room

Users can consult the library's holdings. There is an open-access reference collection, which can be used without prior formalities. Special holdings are not open access but must be requested from library staff.
Electronic information resources can be consulted in the reading room.

Personal Loans
The library's special holdings are not available for loan.
The RJB library only provides this service to CSIC staff.
Borrowers are solely responsible for loaned works.

Inter-Library Loans

This is a services whereby works are loaned between CSIC libraries and other university and scientific libraries. This allows institutions' staff to access original documents or photocopies of publications which are not available at their institution's library.
Two types of user are distinguished:

  1. Users of the RJB library
  2. Libraries with a category 06 (CSIC Libraries), category 08 (External libraries) or 09 (IEDCYT) CSIC Library Network card.

This service's charges are regulated by the REBIUN (Universitary Library Network).

Reproductions service
This service offers library users the possibility of making digital copies or photocopies of parts of the documents consulted, within the framework of the legislation in force and on a self-service basis. For more information, see Reproductions service.
