The journal Anales del Jardín Botánico de Madrid publishes articles on taxonomy and plant and fungal systematics and related fields, such as biogeography, bioinformatics, conservation, ecophysiology, phylogeny, phylogeography, floristics, functional morphology, nomenclature, or plant-animal relationships, including syntheses and reviews.
The journal sends information on new species published in so they can be included in the TROPICOS database (vascular plants; bryophytes), International Plant Name Index or IndexFungorum.
Anales del Jardín Botánico de Madrid has its own in-house editorial team, which reduces the time necessary to process manuscripts to a minimum. In the majority of cases a manuscript may be published within 7-8 months.
Articles are published in the Anales del Jardín Botánico de Madrid web page in pdf format. Offprints are provided in pdf to the authors.
Conditions for publication
The journal accepts articles of general interest which are not substantially the same as an article published previously. Manuscripts must be submitted in accordance with the standards stated in the Guide for authors. If in any doubt, authors should contact the editor-in-chief () before sending their manuscripts in order to avoid delays.
Manuscripts will be assigned to one of the associate editors, who will supervise the scientific evaluation process. All manuscripts will be evaluated by at least two referees. The editor-in-chief will take the final decision on whether or not to accept the paper for publication.
