Glaucous, annual, glabrous below, glabrous or sparsely glandular-puberulent in inflorescence; fertile stems 1-15, 5-11 cm, ascending to erect; sterile stems 0-3. Leaves of fertile stems 7-18 x 0.5-1.7 mm, linear, obtuse, flat, 3-verticillate below, alternate above; leaves of sterile stems similar to those of fertile stems but 3-verticillate. Inflorescence with 1-4 flowers, lax in flower and fruit. Bracts 2-7 mm, linear, acute. Pedicels erect, 0.5-1 mm in flower, 1-2 mm in fruit. Calyx-lobes subequal, 2-4 x 0.4-0.7 mm, linear to narrowly elliptic, acute. Corolla 4-5.5 mm, yellow; tube 1-1.3 mm broad; adaxial lip sinus 0.4-0.6; abaxial lip sinus 0.5-0.8; spur 1-1.8 mm, 0.3-0.4 mm broad at base, much shorter than rest of corolla. Capsules 3-4 mm, broadly ovoid, glabrous or sparsely glandular-puberulent. Seeds 0.5-0.7 mm, reniform-orbicular, sometimes with narrow encircling ridge up to 0.02 mm broad, smooth, without tubercles or papillae, black, shiny; hilum very narrow; periclinal wall of testa-cells somewhat tabularconcave, densely rugulate, the anticlinal walls of testa-cells angular with prominent ridge over junction.
