Linaria pyramidalis (Vent.) F.G. Dietr., Nachtr. Vollsr. Lexic. 4: 417 (1818).

Perennial, glabrous or glabrescent except in inflorescence; fertile stems usually solitary, 30-85 cm, erect or suberect, simple or rarely branched above, stout, densely leafy; sterile stems not seen. Leaves acute or subacute, flat, 3- to 5-veined, alternate. Inflorescence with 14-80 flowers, very dense in flower and fruit. Bracts 5-15 mm, lanceolate to deltate-ovate, acute. Pedicels 1-3 mm in flower and fruit, erect. Calyx-lobes unequal, ovate to oblong-elliptic, obtuse or truncate, the margins not scarious. Corolla bright yellow, glabrous externally; tube 6-11.5 mm broad at mouth; spur straight, shorter than rest of corolla. Capsule 6-8 x 4-6 mm, oblong-globose, glabrous. Seeds reniform-orbicular, grey to black; wing pale grey; disc reniform, tuberculate; tubercles conical, occasionally laterally compressed or anastomosed to form short, radiating ridges, obtuse to acute. Idorescence subglabrous to sparsely glandular-villous. Leaves 40-85 x 5-15 (-20) mm, the length (3.5-) 5-8 (-10) x breadth, lanceolate, attenuate to cuneate, green or somewhat glaucous. Calyx-lobes obtuse or truncate, subglabrous to somewhat sparsely glandular-villous with brown hairs; adaxial lobe 6.5-8 (-8.5) x 2-4 mm; lateral lobes 5.5-7 (-8) x (2.5-) 3-6 mm. Corolla 28-33 (-37) mm; adaxial lip sinus 2-2.5 mm; abaxial lip sinus 1.5-2 mm; spur 10-14 mm, 2.5-4 mm broad at base. Seeds 1.5-2.6 mm; wing 0.4-0.6 mm broad.

Inflorescence lanate. Leaves 23-50 x (8-) 12-30 mm, the length 2.5-4 x breadth, broadly ovate, cuneate to semi-amplexicaul, very glaucous. Calyx-lobes white lanate, obtuse to acute; adaxial lobe 6.5-8 x 2-2.5 mm; lateral lobes 5-7 x 3-4.5 mm. Corolla 33-40 mm; adaxial lip sinus 1-2.5 mm; abaxial lip sinus 1.5-3; spur 10-18 mm, 1.5-2 mm broad at base. Capsule eglandular-villous; Seeds 2.5-3 mm; wing 0.4-0.7 mm broad.

Inflorescence glandular-villous. Leaves 30-50 (-60) x 5-10 (-21) mm, the length 4.5-8 x breadth, linear-lanceolate or broadly lanceolate below, usually attenuate, green. Calyx-lobes glandular-villous with brown hairs; adaxial lobe 8.5-9 (-10) x 2-2.7 mm; lateral lobes 6.5-8 x 3-5 mm. Corolla 36-45 mm; adaxial lip sinus 3.8-4.5 mm; abaxial lip sinus 2.3-2.8 (-3) mm; spur (12-) 14-18 mm, 2.5-4 mm broad at base. Capsule glandular-pubescent. Seeds (2-) 2.7-3 mm; wing 0.7-0.9 mm broad.
