Glabrous, somewhat glaucous perennial; fertile stems 1-several, 25-50 cm, erect, simple or branched above, somewhat sparsely leafy except for 3-5 cm below inflorescence; sterile stems not seen. Leaves 25-50 (-80) x 0.8-1.3 mm, the length 25-50 x breadth, linear, acute, flat, attenuate, alternate. Inflorescence with 7-21 flowers, lax or very lax in flower. Bracts 2.5-6 mm, linear-lanceolate, acute. Pedicels erect, 4.5-9 (-12) mm in flower. Calyx-lobes more or less equal, 3.5-7 x 1.4-2.2 mm, lanceolate, acute or acuminate, the margins not scarious. Corolla 22-26 mm, yellow, tinged and veined with reddish-brown, glabrous externally; tube 6-8 mm broad at mouth; adaxial lip sinus 1.8-2 mm; abaxial lip sinus 0.7-1 mm; spur 10-14 mm, 2-3 mm broad at base, straight or somewhat curved, more or less equalling rest of corolla.
