Glabrous, annual; fertile stem usually solitary, 6-16 cm, erect, branched above; sterile stems 0-3. Leaves of fertile stems 8.5-23 x 2.2-6.3 mm, elliptic to oblong-obovate, acute to obtuse, attenuate, flat, opposite below, alternate above; leaves of sterile stems orbicular, obtuse, 3-verticillate. Inflorescence dense in flower, lax in fruit, many-flowered. Bracts 8-14 mm, elliptic, acute, resembling the leaves. Pedicels 1.5-4.5 mm in flower and fruit, erect. Calyx-lobes equal, 4.5-5 (-6.5) x 1.4-1.6 mm, elliptic to lanceolate, acute. Corolla 18-24 mm, white; tube 2.5-3 mm broad at mouth; adaxial lip sinus 3.5-4 mm; abaxial lip sinus 1.5-2 mm; spur 8-12 mm, 1-1.7 mm broad at base, more or less straight, more or less equalling rest of corolla. Capsule 4-4.5 x 4-4.5 mm, globose, glabrous. Seeds 1.2-1.5 mm, oblong-reniform, coarsely tuberculate with rounded tubercles or partly cristate with short, somewhat sinuate, discrete ridges, blackish-grey; hilum subbasal, narrow; periclinal wall of testa-cells tabular or tabular- convex, verrucate to somewhat reticulate, that of cells of interstices and base of tubercles or ridges usually with small median or marginal papilla.
